SinCityYeti, or David, is a self-taught artist whose creative journey has been a continuous evolution, shaped by a lifelong exploration of color, form, and emotion. From the earliest days of childhood, when crayons and coloring books sparked an enduring love for art, to the present, David's practice has been driven by a desire to capture and express the intangible.

At the age of four, inspired by the compassionate world of Care Bears, David began creating "heart creatures"—these joyful, dancing figures with exaggerated features, stick limbs, and whimsical eyes. These playful characters marked a turning point in the artist's development, moving beyond direct observation and into the realm of imagination. The excitement of creating something entirely unique sparked a deep passion for art that has never wavered.

Later in his childhood and into his teenage years, paper became not just a medium, but a tool for discovery. From folding paper airplanes in preschool to experimenting with origami, David began exploring the endless possibilities of the material. This curiosity led to later work with paper sculptures and intricate floral designs, including the creation of artwork from the pages of repurposed books.

David's artistic focus includes a diverse range of styles and subjects. Among the most significant works is the Pokémon Slice of Life acrylic painting series, which serves as a personal tribute to the comfort and escapism found in the Pokémon universe during darker moments of his life. This series, inspired by the original GameBoy games and TCG Artwork, explores the fantasy of what it would be like, to truly see Pokémon in the wild. Through this work, David aims to capture his sense of childlike wonder, with the goal of one day seeing his art featured on a Pokémon card.

Landscapes play a central role in David's work, often accompanying portraits and scenes set in dreamy, natural environments. Whether painting beloved pets with vast, serene backdrops or creating scenes filled with emotion, the artist strives to evoke feelings of love, nostalgia, and fondness.

More recently, David has delved into deeply personal, emotionally charged artwork. The Emotional State Series explores the haunting nature of memories and emotions, translating them into abstract or surreal creatures and scenes. These works, marked by a sense of urgency and rawness, push the boundaries of the artist’s expression, transforming fleeting feelings into visual forms that demand attention.
